Joset B. Wright-LacySpring officially arrived in the northern hemisphere at 12:57 pm on Thursday March 20th. While many of us were still experiencing snow showers and frigid temperatures well after that day, there was no doubt that longer days were here. In anticipation of warmer days we begin to pack away heavy clothes, push snow shovels to the back of the garage and bring out the potting soil and garden tools.

At NMSDC, we took full advantage of the long winter. We completed the restructure of the affiliate network. We now have 24 affiliate regional councils that will continue to serve members and MBEs throughout the network. Although change is rarely easy, we are dedicated to insuring that our stakeholders continue to receive the program and services they need to drive their businesses. Learn more about our progress at http://strategicplan2012.nmsdc.org.

Spring at NMSDC will bring the unveiling of our new online MBE database – developed with Early Morning Software, an NMSDC-certified MBE, using the PRISM product. The new database offers members enhanced search capabilities, making it easier and faster to find the right MBEs for your business needs. And for the first time, MBEs will have access to each other via the database. We are excited about how this tool will allow the network to connect more effectively. Many of you have had training on the PRISM product. You can expect to receive access to the system this month. If you have not received PRISM training, please check your email for the next training session.

Last, but not least, NMSDC is unveiling its new brand—created in partnership with Ashay Media Group, an NMSDC-certified MBE—and establishing a co-branded relationship with our affiliates. Our new brand is the result of many conversations with members, MBEs, affiliate presidents and marketing specialists…conversations about NMSDC’s purpose and how we want to be perceived in the marketplace, as well as by the network we serve today and those we hope to serve tomorrow. The vibrant colors and the sweeping logo are the visual manifestation of our vision and hopes for this organization and its constituents.

Spring has definitely sprung at NMSDC.
