Corporate Members: NMSDC has more than 460 national corporate members that represent America's largest publicly-owned, privately-owned and foreign-owned companies. Their purchasing activity is national and international in scope. In addition, many companies, hospitals, universities and other regional buying institutions are local members of NMSDC's 36 affiliated Regional Councils. NMSDC Certification (for minority-owned businesses): NMSDC’s rigorous certification process is considered the gold standard for certifying minority-owned businesses by corporate America. The NMSDC Affiliate Regional Councils located throughout the country are responsible for certifying businesses owned by Asian, Black, Hispanic and Native American business owners using guidelines established by the National Minority Supplier Development Council.

Business Opportunity Fairs: Hosted throughout the year by NMSDC Regional Councils and one day during the NMSDC annual conference, these events provide a platform for NMSDC-certified minority business owners to present their products and services directly to potential corporate purchasing executives from corporations, government agencies, universities, hospitals and other buying institutions. The Centers of Excellence use NMSDC “best practices” for minority supplier development to enhance corporate supplier diversity processes and build capacity for MBEs.
Business Consortium Fund: The Business Consortium Fund , Inc. (BCF) is a minority business development company created by the National Minority Supplier Development Council to provide contract financing to NMSDC-certified minority businesses through a network of local participating banks and NMSDC affiliates. Growth Initiative: provides MBEs with the potential for substantial growth and with the opportunity to access equity capital, while retaining management and control, and the advocacy of NMSDC and its member corporations. The timely provision of this important tool is crucial if MBEs are to participate on an equal footing in the expanding national and global economies.
NMSDC Information Center: The NMSDC's Minority Business Information Center provides the only national centralized source of information about minority business development and trends. The Center's resources include access to online databases; statistical data from the U.S. Bureau of the Census; a vast collection of magazines, newspapers and journals with articles pertinent to minority business development; and information on legislation affecting minority business development.
Advanced Management Education Program: This custom executive education program was created by NMSDC in partnership with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University to provide certified, established, expansion-oriented MBEs with the tools and skills needed to achieve and sustain accelerated growth. NMSDC corporate members recommend high-potential MBEs for participation in the four-day program, which is held each year in June.
Biz-Fit Challenge
Provides NMSDC-certified MBEs with a series of assessment tools to help evaluate various aspects of their businesses. These tools are offered free of charge.

Supplier Diversity Online Course: This NMSDC course provides corporations with a comprehensive overview of minority supplier development; Best Practices for planning, implementing and assessing a supplier diversity process; and tools to ensure maximum impact and relevance to a company’s business strategy. The online course is an 18-hour targeted offering available over a 7-week period that will enhance the corporate/MBE buyer/seller relationship. Guidance and direction are provided by online facilitators and experienced supplier diversity professionals chosen by NMSDC. The online course allows participants to interact with a vibrant community of their colleagues in chat rooms and threaded discussions.
